Scriptures to make the heart and soul feel good

The following Scriptures are powerful and we should all take them to heart and try our best to live by them everyday of our lives.

1 John 3:16-18 says; 16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

17 But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?

18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

Matthew 25:34 - 40 says; 34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?

38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

I challenge everyone to do just one kind act towards someone whom you know needs it.

If they are sick, take them some homemade chicken soup and a card and gift. If you are crafty, a handmade gift is the best, as it shows more thoughtfulness.

If you know someone needs a vehicle and you are wealthy and have a few, give them one! Yes I said give them one. Honestly would it hurt you any to do it? Remember all your gifts are tax write off's, so GIVE, Uncle Sam will reward you for your generosity. Not only that, but the feeling you will get will make it worth it, trust me I know : )

If you know someone who needs a home and you have more than one, offer them the use of the home you are not using.

If you know someone has little to eat, invite them over for dinner, or just take dinner to them.

If you have little yourself, but want to help someone who has less than you, share your lunch with them, or give them a spare coat if you have one. Make them something. Everyone can create something, even if it is only cookies. To someone who is down on their luck, this small gesture of kindness can really brighten their day. Think about it, if they are poor and down on their luck they most likely are depressed as well. Small kind gestures will cheer them more than they could ever tell you.

There is someone in every town that has less than someone else, get out there and FIND THEM!!!

Remember Jesus words; That which you have done to the least of my people, you have also done to me. Would you leave Christ hungry and out in the cold? Then don't do it to your Brethren either, for that which you do to a Brother or Sister you do also to Christ our Lord and Savoir.

Let's get out there and make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate than ourselves. You don't have to have your own Ministry or be in charge of a Ministry at your Church to do it. As Nike' says, "JUST DO IT"!

God Bless,

Carmella Dunkin
